Inquisitor- Spotlight for Safari

Very cool. It basically enhances your Safari’s search tool by upgrading it to a spotlight(ish) tool! Very nice look, and it will even try to auto-complete your search terms! Definitely worth it.

A Great Torrent Client- Brought to you by the creators of HandBrake

Yep, HandBrake is one kick-ass software. And so is Transmission.

Yes, in the light of Suprnova, I decided to feature a torrent client (And a very good one at that). Transmission is completely free and has a very simple interface, and is incredibly easy to use. Beats all the others in my opinion. However, why ask for my opinion when you can try it out yourself!

Get Transmission here. You won’t be sorry!

Paintbrush- Paint the Mac way

I’ve always felt that Mac could use a software like Microsoft’s Paint program, and now, we have one. Paintbrush!

SeisMac: Turn your Mac into a Seismograph

SeisMac will take advantage of your MacBook (Pro)’s sudden motion sensor in order to create real-time graphs of the (in this case, quite local) seismic activity. It really does feel every tiny vibration, and thus turns your MacBook into an amateur seismograph.

Xstrimmer

This is a wonderful freeware app which cuts down the memory of your applications. It can also remove languages or architectures. Unfortunately this is only PPC compatible, so thos of you with the intel macs are gonna have to wait for a newer update :(

PPC mac-users, get this, you’ll have at least a good 600 MB cut down on memory.

How To: Personalize your Mac, Make it different, unique!

Today, you are going to learn how to make your Mac different, how to make it stand out, and give it a lil’ something that makes it you!

You want your Mac to be different from others, make it so that it catches other people’s eyes! With three simple steps, you can do just that!

1. Get Uno. Tired of the brushed metal look? Perhaps you want a cleaner, lighter interface? Well Uno is just the thing for you. This powerful interface tool allows you various options for changing brushed metal looks in exchange for different unified skins. Trust me, you want this.

2. Remove that butt-ugly dull gray piece of crap background of your dock. Get a nice, clear, and transparent dock instead! With ClearDock, you can also customize various dock factors, such as the arrows pointing to open applications! Here’s my dock :D

3. Notice that my Finder icon was totally pimped out? Or that my trashcan was bleeding? This brings me to my next point: Icons. The best way to make your Mac unique is with icons. CandyBar is an application (demo) which allows you to easily change your Mac’s icons. However, for those who don’t want to pay for an application, you can change icons manually, just by reading my post on How To: Change Icons. You can change almost all your icons manually, however there are few icons such as the finder icon, or trashcan icon which can’t be changed manually.
